IT4Africa participated in the 25th anniversary celebration of IPD (Institut Panafricain pour le DΓ©veloppement) in Douala. During the ceremony, IT equipment was officially handed over to partner schools, with signed discharge attestations and donation certificates. Four official videos were recorded at the event.
IT4Africa organised an Innovation Workshop in Frankfurt using Sprint methodologies. The team reworked the organisation's strategic goals and rethought the way IT4Africa's impact is structured and delivered, setting a renewed direction for the years ahead.
IT4Africa accompanied the delegation of Cameroon's MINEFOP (Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle) to WorldSkills Austria in Vienna, continuing its role of connecting Cameroonian vocational-training stakeholders with the international WorldSkills movement.
IT4Africa participated in the WorldSkills France 2024 national competition and, the same year, in the WorldSkills International Competition held in Lyon. These events strengthened experience-sharing and international networking around skills competitions for the benefit of vocational training in Cameroon.
IT4Africa supports the Cameroonian MINEFOP in implementing the WorldSkills movement in Cameroon. It plays a connecting role and actively lobbies international stakeholders interested in promoting Vocational Education & Training in Cameroon.
IT4Africa organised the very first WorldSkills Cameroon competition in Douala, in official partnership with MINEFOP (Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle). Over 50 young participants competed across 5 disciplines: IT networking, software development, electrical engineering, web technologies, and more. Winners qualified to represent Cameroon at WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon, France.
IT4Africa attended WorldSkills France to gather experience for organising the competition in Cameroon. The visit enabled exchanges with international partners, observation of best practices in skills competitions, and building of key networks for the IT professions development in Central Africa. Travel costs: β¬3,400.78.
In 2023, IT4Africa organised a major IT hardware donation to 12 schools across Cameroon in cooperation with IPD Cameroon, JFN Institut of Technology, and MBCode. Computers, monitors, accessories, and network components were shipped in a full container. The entire container cost was covered by sponsor Wendelin Einsiedler.
IT4Africa introduced AI tools into its workflows and delivered an online training on Artificial Intelligence for non-profit organisations. A Train-the-Trainer programme was also run to prepare Cameroon-based coaches for WorldSkills judging methodology and modern teaching techniques using digital tools.
Cisco networking training sessions were delivered at IPD in Douala. Participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge in network technology and work towards certified Cisco expert qualifications.
Multiple computer donation events in early 2022: to MBCode (children's IT training organisation), to a Waisenhaus (orphanage) to give orphaned children access to technology, and to a MÀdchenhaus (girls' home) to promote women in IT. Additionally, a computer-based therapy programme was piloted with autistic children at Foyers Saint Nicodème.
Building on the partnership with JFN Institut of Technology, IT4Africa co-founded a Cisco Networking Academy at JFN. Students and interested professionals can now pursue certified Cisco network qualifications through this facility.
The largest single event in IT4Africa's history by volume of documentation. Over two days in Douala, the team launched the Cisco Network Academy in partnership with IPD, delivered in-person networking workshops, and ran Python and Robotics training sessions for children through MBCODE. The 600-computer donation from LECOS was distributed to 18 schools and universities during this period.

Approximately 300 computers and IT equipment from Berufsschule Kempten were loaded into a shipping container and dispatched to Cameroon. Transport costs were generously covered by a private sponsor from Wilpoldsried. This donation significantly improved technology access for educational institutions in Cameroon.
IT4Africa successfully participated in the WBSHerzen Projects grant programme, receiving β¬5,000 in funding. This financial support enabled the organisation to advance its projects and pursue its goals more effectively across the year.
A 3-day operation to collect computers and IT equipment from Berufsschule Kempten. The team documented the entire collection process with photos and videos. This was IT4Africa's first major hardware collection from a German vocational school β a model that would be repeated in subsequent years.
IT4Africa received a donation of used IT hardware from SGS, an international certification and inspection company. The equipment was catalogued for future shipment to Africa. An application for transport subsidies was submitted during this period.
Due to the pandemic, all 2020 educational activities were held online: a 3-week Python bootcamp for 20 students from Douala, a 1-day intensive session with 10 students, an online IPD Douala workshop, a startup mentoring programme, and Cisco online training for the IT4Africa board.
